On July 3, the crew of this sailboat filmed the moment when Stromboli, a volcanic island in Italy north of Sicily, erupted. Two large eruptive explosive phases produced a column of tephra (blocks, ash) 2 km high and a lava flow that swept the Sciara del Fuoco.
