38,000 tons (225-meter-long) ship brakes fail

A 225-meter-long, 38,000-ton freighter accidentally hits a historic building on the Bosphorus shore in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The ship “Vitaspirit”, with flag of Malta and coming from Egypt, was going to the Black Sea when it had a problem in the machines that left the helm locked. After the incident, traffic on the Bosphorus was impeded in both directions for a few hours.
