Huge wave vs ferry window in Hamburg, Germany

This incident happened in the Port of Hamburg on the Ferry “Tollerort” on line 68 bringing some Airbus Plant employees to work in the morning. According to the Police three people sustained minor injuries, i.e. cuts from shards of the broken window. The ferry, which is part of the Hamburg public transportation system, was never in peril and moored at a terminal where the passengers could disembark.

The glass panes are supposed to withstand such stress and this has never happened before, which is why the incident is now under thorough investigation by the operator and the authorities concerned.
