As a former dump truck driver, there are a few clear signs that your box is in the air. First, whenever you glance at your mirror, which happens every time you turn your head, the elevated box is immediately noticeable. Second, the raised center of gravity makes the truck lean and sway dramatically with even minor uneven ground, wind gusts, or turns, creating an alarming sensation. Unless the driver is extremely impaired, exhausted, or utterly incompetent, it’s hard to imagine this being anything but deliberate.
