Big ship surge chain – hit and run technique

At first sight you will say they lose the chain, but they didn’t lose it. This chain is attached to permanent anchor from ocean floor to buoy in harbor. When ship or barge needs anchorage it attaches a lighter chain to buoy. It is called surge chain because it is long enough to keep boat in anchorage even in high tides and rough seas.
