Liebherr – LR 1800-1.0 First use in wind power

The brand-new LR 1800-1.0 from Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge was used for the first time in a wind farm in Marsberg, about 120 kilometers from Essen. Almost 70 transport vehicles brought the components for the wind power variant of the machine to the construction site. Four towers from the plant manufacturer Enercon had already been erected by a Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane up to a height of 88 meters and now had to be completed. The Colonia team was actively supported by three service employees from Ehingen and the Liebherr repair center in Oberhausen when setting up their new equipment for the first time. After almost six days, the LR 1800-1.0 towered into the sky with a 171 meter long main boom and a 12 meter jib fully assembled.
