An icebreaker is a very useful ship for northern hemisphere countries where it is often needed to break ice.
Also other countries with navigable waterways need such kind of ships. For example, in Romania, navigation on the Danube River is often stopped in winter because there is only one icebreaker in Romania and that is not very powerful to do all the job on the Danube River.
In this video we present how the world’s largest icebreaker looks. Even if the ice is over 1m thick, this icebreaker makes its job very easy.
