In Belgium – Car driver trying to cross an opening bridge

A car with a couple and their child on board was standing still on this bridge when it suddenly opened. The car eventually started to slide and came to a stop on the roof. Luckily no one was seriously injured or anything like that, but still something you can do without.

The driver was probably scared when the bridge started to rise and instead of driving in reverse he preferred to stay on the bridge.

A very big scare. Authorities in the Belgian city express regret for what happened and are conducting an investigation to see if it was a driver’s mistake or a signaling error. But witnesses say the mistake was made by the driver who did not stop at the barrier.
