The icebreaker Jamal sailed in 1989 and belongs to Atomflot. It got its name from the Siberian Yamal Peninsula. It measures 148 meters, is 30 meters wide and has a draft of 11 meters. Its maximum speed is 38.2 km / h. Energy is generated by two reactors of the OK-900A series (2 × 171 MW) and two steam turbogenerators (2 × 27.6 MW). The icebreaker serves 189 crew members. The ship is equipped with a heliport and one hangar for one helicopter (Ka-27, Mi-2, Mi-8).
